90 Best 4-Star Monsters In Summoners War 2023 – New Updated List

Summoners War Mobile Video Game - List of Best 4-Star Monsters

With hundreds of different monsters in the game, Summoners War offers an enormous variety of how they can be used in the game. We can find decent monsters in all Star tiers, except 1-Star Monsters. Most of the time, we will use 4 or 3-Star monsters in dungeons, PvP, or PvE, as they are much easier to obtain than 5-Star monsters.

However, as there are 186 different 4-Star monsters (new 4-Star Monster String Master incoming!), there are some that stand out, and some that are not worth the time to build them. This list will show you the best 4-Star monsters in Summoners War as of May 28th, 2020.

I played this game now for over 1900 days in total and cleared most of the available content. So, I can say that I know the game very well. But enough of that, let us start with the best 4-Star monsters.

Important note: All the monsters listed below are not sorted in their rank, but I will mention where they are used. If you manage to pull one of these monsters, you can be sure that they are useful.

Fire monsters:

Shihwa – Nine-tailed Fox:

Shihwa – Nine-tailed Fox

Type: Attack
Obtainable trough: Mystical Scroll, Mystical Summon, Temple of Wishes, Legendary Scroll, Fire Scroll
Useful in: Dungeons, Rift Beasts

Shihwa is an excellent Leader-Monster for the Wind Rift Beast, but can also be used for Necropolis B10 teams. She has good stats, and she should be runed on Violent/Blade or Fatal/Blade to get the most out of her.

Baretta – Sylph:

Baretta – Sylph

Type: Attack
Obtainable trough: Mystical Scroll, Mystical Summon, Temple of Wishes, Legendary Scroll, Fire Scroll, Fusion Hexagram
Useful in: Tower of Ascension

Baretta is one of the best monsters for PvE content, especially to clear the Tower of Ascension (in both difficulties). This monster is very easy to rune (recommended set it Despair/Focus), thanks to good stats. Also, Baretta has a 19% Spd Leader Skill, which is also very useful.

If you do not already have one, I highly recommend fuse this monster as fast as possible, as he is extremely helpful for Toa/H.

Garo – Ninja:

Garo – Ninja

Type: Attack
Obtainable trough: Mystical Scroll, Mystical Summon, Temple of Wishes, Fire Scroll, Legendary Scroll
Useful in: Guild War offense and defense, Arena, Live Arena, Rift Beasts

Garo is the only Nat-4 Fire Monster that can sustain himself, thanks to his passive skill, “Narrow Escape.” He should only be runed on Vampire (+ Revenge/Blade/Will) to get the most out of him. Most of the time, you will use him for PvP content, but he can also be used for Rift Beast teams. Overall, he is fun to play with, but you should focus on other monsters instead if you do not have many 6-Star monsters yet.

Verdehile – Vamipre:

Verdehile – Vamipre

Type: Attack
Obtainable trough: Obtainable trough: Mystical Scroll, Mystical Summon, Temple of Wishes, Fire Scroll, Legendary Scroll, Fusion Hexagram
Useful in: Guild War, Arena, Live Arena, Guild Siege

Probably one of the best 4-Star monsters out there, as you can use him almost everywhere. In PvP, he can give your entire team a lot of extra turns, especially if Verdehile is runed on Violent/Revenge. In PvE, he can make dungeon runs much faster, especially in the early days. In addition to his overall usefulness, he can be fused in the Fusion Hexagram, so you have to get him as fast as possible (if you do not already own one).

Chloe – Epikon Priest:

Type: Support
Obtainable trough: Mystical Scroll, Mystical Summon, Temple of Wishes, Fire Scroll, Legendary Scroll
Useful in: Arena, Live Arena, Guild War Offense

Chloe is not the best support Monster anymore, but still, she is very useful in some areas. She really shines as a hard counter to any non-strip teams, as she can negate all incoming damage with her third skill: “Fanatic.” She can also provide your team with 2 turns of immunity and can heal them if they come into a critical state.

Hwa – Rakshasa:

Type: Attack
Obtainable trough: Mystical Scroll, Mystical Summon, Temple of Wishes, Fire Scroll, Legendary Scroll
Useful in: Dungeons, Raid, Arena, Guild War, Guild Siege

Like Verdehile, Hwa can also be used for a lot of content, thanks to her passive skill, “Burning Whip,” that decreases the enemy’s attack bar by 25% with each attack. She is especially helpful at Boss Stages in the Tower of Ascension, but there are other alternatives (Loren/Spectra).

Antares – Lich:

Type: Attack
Obtainable trough: Mystical Scroll, Mystical Summon, Temple of Wishes, Fire Scroll, Legendary Scroll
Useful in: Arena, Live Arena, Guild Sige

Antares is not made for PvE content, but he really shines in PvP. When his passive skill “Transcendance” got buffed, he became a viable option to defeat cleave and speed teams. I recommend giving him a Despair/Will so he can stun the enemy team when he gets a turn. Besides this, if you lack Critical Rate for some monsters, Antares can be used as a leader, to increase the Critical Rate of ally monsters in the Arena by 24%.

Draco – Brownie Magician:

Type: Support
Obtainable trough: Mystical Scroll, Mystical Summon, Temple of Wishes, Fire Scroll, Legendary Scroll
Useful in: Arena, Guild Siege, Guild Wars, Live Arena

Draco is a useful supporter that can buff ally monsters, and debuff the enemy’s team. There is some RNG build in his third skill, “Whistle,” as we can not choose what buff we get. However, this kit enables him to shine in PvP content, especially on a fast rune build.

Note that he can get additional turns, even without a Violent set. His first skill, Run Run, has a chance to get him an extra turn with a 30% chance. This makes him very unpredictable, like Orion.

Hwahee – Sky Dancer:

Type: Attack
Obtainable trough: Mystical Scroll, Mystical Summon, Temple of Wishes, Fire Scroll, Legendary Scroll
Useful in: Rift Beasts, Necropolis, Raid

Hwahee is another Fire monster that has self-sustain. But she is not very useful in PvP content, as she can be replaced very easily with other attackers. The place where she is shining is the Wind Rift and Necropolis. She is a decent beginner monster, as runing her is very easy. You should rune her on Violent/Blade (or Fight) in the best case, but giving her a Fatal set also works fine.

Trevor – Neostone Fighter:

Type: Attack
Obtainable trough: Mystical Scroll, Mystical Summon, Temple of Wishes, Fire Scroll, Legendary Scroll
Useful in: Arena, Live Arena, Guild War, Guild Sige

Trevor’s playstyle is very similar to Garo; however, Trevor will deal more damage the less HP he has. Trevor can also buff his Atk and Critical Rate with both of his skills, making him a serious threat in a 1v1. If he is runed on Vampire, he gets even more dangerous and can even solo entire teams.

Unfortunately, he can also be defeated very quickly if he has not enough HP and Defense. But still, he is super fun to play with and brings a 33% Atk Leader Skill for the Arena, making it even better.

Khmun – Anubis:

Type: Support
Obtainable trough: Mystical Scroll, Mystical Summon, Temple of Wishes, Fire Scroll, Legendary Scroll
Useful in: Arena defense, Guild Siege, Guild Wars

Khmun is a fantastic monster for PvP content. His stats and skills make him an excellent Bruiser (a tanky monster that can also deal decent damage). With his “Savior” passive skill, he can protect one ally monster with a shield (20% of his HP), making it difficult for the opponent to eliminate your monster.

It is super easy to rune him up, as even a triple Energy set (15% additional HP per set) can do it. However, good Khmuns are either runed on Despair/Violent with Will as off-set. If you have one, make sure to give him as much HP and resistance as possible.

Harmonia – Harp Magician:

Type: Support
Obtainable trough: Mystical Scroll, Mystical Summon, Temple of Wishes, Fire Scroll, Legendary Scroll, Fusion Hexagram
Useful in: Arena, Guild Siege, Guild Wars, Live Arena

Another support monster that can buff immunity to ally monsters. Harmonia is one of the best farmable support monsters in the game, as her skills can interrupt the opponent massively. Besides buffing immunity, she can also sleep enemies, and evens the HP of the enemy target, and an ally with the lowest HP.

Her healing potential is fantastic, but she needs to be fully skilled up to be effective. But she can be paired up with a lot of other monsters, which is a huge plus.

Shaina – Chakram Dancer:

Type: Attack
Obtainable trough: Mystical Scroll, Mystical Summon, Temple of Wishes, Fire Scroll, Legendary Scroll
Useful in: Dungeons, Rift Beast

After her nerf in patch 5.0.8 back in 2019, most of the people were massively disappointed. However, Shaina is still a decent 4-Star monster, as she can be used in many different Dungeons including secret dungeons and Rift teams. Now, she is pretty easy to rune, as we only need (at least) a good Fatal set to get her work. However, the best set would be Violent/Blade.

Water monsters:

Soha – Nine-tailed Fox:

Type: Attack
Obtainable trough: Mystical Scroll, Mystical Summon, Temple of Wishes, Water Scroll, Legendary Scroll
Useful in: Rift Beast, Arena, Guild War, Guild Siege

Soha not only brings a 40% attack leader skill for Water monsters; no, she is also a decent AoE stripper. The second skill, “Soul Snatcher,” allows her to heal herself, depending on how much damage gets inflicted. Recommended runes are Swift as the main set, and Blade or Energy as off-set.

Tyron – Sylph:

Type: Attack
Obtainable trough: Mystical Scroll, Mystical Summon, Temple of Wishes, Water Scroll, Legendary Scroll
Useful in: Arena, Live Arena, Guild War, Guild Siege, Tower of Ascension Normal/Hard

Tyron is one of the best replacements if you do not own a Verad. His skills enable him to control other monsters for a long time, thanks to freezes and attack bar push-backs. His 19% Spd leader skill rounds up his kit, making him a fantastic monster for almost all content.

If you have problems with clearing the Tower of Ascension Normal/Hard, you should definitely give him a chance. For runes, you should give him a fast Despair set.

Susano – Ninja:

Type: Attack
Obtainable trough: Mystical Scroll, Mystical Summon, Temple of Wishes, Water Scroll, Legendary Scroll
Useful in: Guild War, Guild Siege, Arena, Live Arena

Susano is a pure PvP monster, which works perfectly with fast teams. In Guild Siege, a popular and strong combination is Garo, Susano, and Orion, with Susano as the leader. His passive “Clear Water” increases the chance to land a Glancing Hit by 50% and increases the resistance by 50% as well.

Susano is not that hard to rune, as a Swift set works just fine. However, I would instead switch to a Vampire set sooner or later, to increase his self-sustain. He can also be paired up with a lot of other monsters, thanks to his 30% Spd leader skill for Water attribute monsters.

Julie – Pierret:

Type: Attack
Obtainable trough: Mystical Scroll, Mystical Summon, Temple of Wishes, Water Scroll, Legendary Scroll
Useful in: Dungeons, Rift Beasts, PvP

Julie is a decent damage dealer for Rift Beasts and Dungeons and can be used in PvP as well. Her skills can remove beneficial effects from other monsters, freeze an enemy for one turn, or deal massive damage to all enemies.

However, to get the most out of her AoE attack, you need to make sure she has full health. The best sets for her are Fata and Rage, with Will or Blade as second rune set. If paired with Galleon, she can wipe out entire teams in one turn, even without end-game runes. Very fun to play with.

Xiao Lin – Kung Fu Girl:

Type: Attack
Obtainable trough: Mystical Scroll, Mystical Summon, Temple of Wishes, Water Scroll, Legendary Scroll
Useful in: Raid, Raid Beasts

Xiao Lin does not get used to clear many types of content, but she is one of the best attackers in Rift and Raid Dungeons. Her ability to deal massive damage on the Raid/Rift Bosses makes her a popular pick, and if she gets runed on Vampire, she also has self-sustain.

However, she needs good runes, as her base stats are not the best compared to other 4-Star monsters on the list.

Orion – Brownie Magician:

Type: Support
Obtainable trough: Mystical Scroll, Mystical Summon, Temple of Wishes, Water Scroll, Legendary Scroll
Useful in: Arena, Live Arena, Guild War, Guild Siege

Orion is, without doubt, one of the best support monsters at the moment. If runed correctly, he is super unpredictable, as he can debuff enemy monsters and gain additional turns with his first skill. In addition to that, he can also remove one beneficial effect from an enemy monster, creating an opening for ally monsters.

A good Orion should be as fast and tanky as possible, with a Swift or Violent build. As off-set, Will should be the only choice.

Malaka – Kobold Bomber:

Type: Attack
Obtainable trough: Mystical Scroll, Mystical Summon, Temple of Wishes, Water Scroll, Legendary Scroll
Useful in: Guild War offense, Arena offense, Guild Sige

Bombers are very situational and are mainly used in PvP content. Malaka has a decent kit, allowing him to place bombs on all enemy monsters, and decrease their attack power and defense. He should have as much Atk, Acc, and HP as possible, (especially enough HP), as his stats are not the best.

However, it is super satisfying to see the enemy monsters disappear after each other. Note that he works best with Seara or some other monster that can stun the enemy.

Mihyang – Sky Dancer:

Mihyang_Icon

Type: Support
Obtainable trough: Mystical Scroll, Mystical Summon, Temple of Wishes, Water Scroll, Legendary Scroll
Useful in: Raid, Rift, Guild Siege, Guild Wars

If you do not have a decent Water Supporter, Mihyang would be a good choice. Her kit is fantastic for Rift and Raid teams, as she can extend the time of beneficial effects, heal, and increase ally monsters attack bar. She can also deal decent damage if you give her enough Atk and Critical Damage.

Mihyang is not hard to build either. You can rune her with Swift/Energy (or Blade), and switch to Violent/Blade later, if you have enough good runes.

Aegir – Barbaric King:

Aegir – Barbaric King

Type: Attack
Obtainable trough: Mystical Scroll, Mystical Summon, Temple of Wishes, Water Scroll, Legendary Scroll
Useful in: Arena, Live Arena, Guild Wars, Guild Sige

Aegir is an excellent PvP unit that can turn cycle enemy teams, even in the Live Arena. He can steal beneficial effects, can brand enemies, steal attack bar, and add continuous damage. In addition to his amazing skills, his stats are also excellent, and he gets +25% Acc if you awaken him.

His 33% HP leader skill for Guild Wars is perfect for his kit, and he can be combined with lots of different monsters. Overall, a fantastic unit.

Galleon – Pirate Captain:

Galleon – Pirate Captain

Type: HP
Obtainable trough: Mystical Scroll, Mystical Summon, Temple of Wishes, Water Scroll, Legendary Scroll
Useful in: Dungeons, Trial of Ascension speed runs, Guild War, Guild Siege, Arena, Live Arena

Galleon is one of the best offensive units in the game. He provides an AoE defense break on the enemy while buffing the Atk of ally monsters. With his second skill, he can absorb the atk bar by 30%, while dealing decent damage. And even with his first skill, he can place a 1-turn defense break on the enemy.

This unit is a must-have if you want to level up your game. He is super easy to build; he only needs to be a bit faster than your damage dealer. In the beginning, give him a Swift/Focus set, and switch it out for a Violent/Will build later.

Lapis – Magic Knight:

Lapis – Magic Knight

Type: Attack
Obtainable trough: The Legacy of Mt. Siz Mission, Mystical Scroll, Mystical Summon, Water Scroll, Legendary Scroll
Useful in: Farming campaign, Dungeons, Rift Beasts

Lapis is one of the best 4-star farmers, which you can get very quickly. She has many multi-attacks, making her very useful in the Fire Rift. Her kit enables her to absorb the atk bar of other monsters, decrease the atk bar, and place armor break.

Overall, she is a useful monster, not only for farming Faimon on Hell difficulty.

Stella – Assassin:

Stella – Assassin

Type: Attack
Obtainable trough: Mystical Scroll, Mystical Summon, Temple of Wishes, Water Scroll, Legendary Scroll
Useful in: Dungeons

Stella is one of the most widespread damage dealers for Giants and Dragons B10, as she can deal a lot of damage to the boss. However, to get the most out of her, she needs at least 225 Spd, which can be hard to get to without a swift set. But besides this, she is an excellent single-target DPS, that can also place branding on enemy monsters and weaken their defense.

Emma – Neostone Agent:

Emma – Neostone Agent

Type: Support
Obtainable trough: Mystical Scroll, Mystical Summon, Temple of Wishes, Water Scroll, Legendary Scroll
Useful in: Arena, Guild War, Guild Siege

Emma is a great supporter for PvP teams, that scale with defense. Her skills allow her to remove beneficial effects, heal, increase defense of ally monsters, and increase the enemy’s chance of dealing a Glancing Hit for 2 turns. She also comes with decent stats, and a leader skill, which increases the resistance of ally monsters by 40% in Guild Wars. She can also be used in some dungeons or as a Raid frontline tank.

Talia – Chakram Dancer:

Talia – Chakram Dancer

Type: Attack
Obtainable trough: Mystical Scroll, Mystical Summon, Water Scroll, Legendary Scroll, Temple of Wishes
Useful in: Dungeons

Definitely one of the strongest and best Water attribute 4-Star monsters in the game. Talia can deal massive damage to boss monsters and buff her own Atk for 2 turns as well. However, she has to be paired with a Boomerang Warrior to get the most out of her. Talia is not particularly difficult to rune, as she can be built on Fatal, Rage, or Violent.

Sabrina – Boomerang Warrior:

Sabrina – Boomerang Warrior

Type: Attack
Obtainable trough: Mystical Scroll, Mystical Summon, Water Scroll, Legendary Scroll, Temple of Wishes
Useful in: Dungeons

Sabrina is one of the best Boomerang Warriors and with Talia, one of the best 4-Star monsters in Summoners War. She works excellent in most dungeons, thanks to her simple, but excellent kit. She can place multiple debuffs on enemy monsters and has a passive that makes her more durable.

Covenant – Sniper Mk.1:

Covenant – Sniper Mk.1

Type: Attack
Obtainable trough: Mystical Scroll, Mystical Summon, Water Scroll, Legendary Scroll, Temple of Wishes
Useful in: Arena, Live Arena, Guild Wars, Guild Siege, Dungeons

Covenant is the last Water 4-Star monster on this list. Unlike the other Sniper’s, he is more useful in general. His third skill enables him to ignore the target’s defense, landing a deadly blow that can one-shot most units instantly. In addition to that, he can also remove beneficial effects, and deal increased damage to an enemy, according to the number of beneficial effects removed. Unfortunately, he needs a lot of skill-ups (13 in total) to max him out, but it is definitely worth it.

Wind monsters:

Arang – Nine-tailed Fox:

Arang – Nine-tailed Fox

Type: Attack
Obtainable trough: Mystical Scroll, Mystical Summon, Wind Scroll, Legendary Scroll, Temple of Wishes, Fusion Hexagram
Useful in: Dungeons, Arena, Guild Siege, Rift Beasts

Arang is very similar to Soha, but with the difference that her third skill deals a lot more damage, and can debuff enemy monsters. With her 40% Atk leader skill for Wind monsters, she is often used in Giants B10 speed teams, to increase Lushen’s damage.

But not only that, but she can also be used in Rift Beasts, and Guild Siege, thanks to her damage potential.

Delphoi – Undine:

Delphoi – Undine

Type: Support
Obtainable trough: Mystical Scroll, Mystical Summon, Wind Scroll, Legendary Scroll, Temple of Wishes
Useful in: Arena, Guild War, Guild Siege

Delphoi is another supporter that really shines in PvP content. She is similar to Chloe, but she can not buff invincibility to ally monsters. However, she can increase attack cooldowns of a target, place slowness on enemy monsters, heal, and buff immunity for 2 turns.

With her 40% Wind defense leader skill, she can be paired up with Copper and other defense scaling monsters. Like Emma, Delphoi can also be used as a Raid frontline tank.

Lushen – Joker:

Lushen – Joker

Type: Attack
Obtainable trough: Mystical Scroll, Mystical Summon, Wind Scroll, Legendary Scroll, Temple of Wishes
Useful in: Dungeons, Live Arena, Arena, Guild Wars, Guild Siege

Without any doubt, Lushen is probably one of the most useful monsters in the entire game. His ability to wipe out multiple monsters with one attack is just amazing. However, he needs good runes to be effective. The best builds for Lushen are Rage/Will (or Blade for additional Crt Rate), or Fatal/Blade.

His flexibility allows players to use him for almost any type of content. Most people have built at least two Lushen for Arena, Dungeons, or Guild Siege. Definitely a must-have unit.

Taurus – Kobold Bomber:

Taurus – Kobold Bomber

Type: Attack
Obtainable trough: Mystical Scroll, Mystical Summon, Wind Scroll, Legendary Scroll, Temple of Wishes
Useful in: Arena, Guild Wars, Guild Siege

Taurus is very similar to Malaka (Water Kobold Bomber), as two of the three skills are the same. However, his third skill can increase all skill cooldowns for 1 turn. His stats are ok, and he is super simple to rune. I recommend using a Fatal/Focus set.

Chasun – Sky Dancer:

Chasun – Sky Dancer

Type: Support
Obtainable trough: Mystical Scroll, Mystical Summon, Wind Scroll, Legendary Scroll, Temple of Wishes
Useful in: Guild War, Guild Siege, Arena, Dungeons, Rift Beasts

Chasun is one of the strongest 4-Star healers in Summoners War, thanks to her second and third skills. She can balance the HP of ally monsters, buff Atk for all monsters, and put the glancing debuff on enemy monsters. She can get a lot of tuns if she is runed right, as she can increase her attack bar with the third skill, “Fallen Blossoms,” as well.

Because she has very good stats and can provide strong healing, she is very popular as a healer, even later in the game.

Hraesvelg – Barbaric King:

Hraesvelg – Barbaric King

Type: Attack
Obtainable trough: Mystical Scroll, Mystical Summon, Wind Scroll, Legendary Scroll, Temple of Wishes
Useful in: Dungeons, Arena, Guild War, Guild Siege

Hraesvelg shares a similar position as Aegir (Water Barbaric King), but he is more of a supporter. His ability to buff the Atk and Spd of all ally monsters, and to put continuous damage and branding on enemy monsters make him a popular pick in dungeons, Rift Beasts, and PvP.

Tanya – Assassin:

Tanya – Assassin

Type: Attack
Obtainable trough: Mystical Scroll, Mystical Summon, Wind Scroll, Legendary Scroll, Temple of Wishes
Useful in: Arena, Guild Wars, Guild Siege

Tanya is a classic Wind DPS unit that can deal massive single-target damage. She can defense break other monsters, and buff her own Atk for 2 turns, so she can still win 1v1 fights. Her third skill, “Shadow Assault,” is just fun to use, as she attacks a second time with 30% increased damage if the first attack kills the primary target.

However, she is not as good as Stella in dungeons, making her only useful for PvP fights.

Olivia – Neostone Agent:

Olivia – Neostone Agent

Type: Support
Obtainable trough: Mystical Scroll, Mystical Summon, Wind Scroll, Legendary Scroll, Temple of Wishes
Useful in: Guild Wars, Guild Siege, Arena, Live Arena

Like Emma, Olivia works excellently with defense scaling units like Copper, Bulldozer, or Feng Yang, maybe even better. She can increase the defense of all ally monsters in the team, and remove all harmful effects on one monster. In addition to that, she also fills up the attack bar entirely. Her leader skill increases the defense of monsters in Guild Content by 33%, so she is perfect for Copper teams.

Imesety – Horus:

Imesety – Horus

Type: Support
Obtainable trough: Mystical Scroll, Mystical Summon, Wind Scroll, Legendary Scroll, Temple of Wishes
Useful in: Arena, Guild Wars, Guild Siege

Imesety is a fantastic alternative to Olivia, as he can also increase the defense and critical rate of ally monsters, and fill up their attack bar entirely. However, he has an AoE attack, which decreases the enemy’s attack bar by 30% and slows them.

This unit should be as fast as possible, so he can give a monster an immediate turn. For runes, you can build him either on Despair/Will to stun enemies or Swift/Will for max Spd.

Triana – Harp Magician:

Triana – Harp Magician

Type: Support
Obtainable trough: Mystical Scroll, Mystical Summon, Wind Scroll, Legendary Scroll, Temple of Wishes
Useful in: Arena, Live Arena, Guild Wars, Guild Siege

Triana is extremely popular in PvP, as she can protect an ally monster from dying (but not herself). Also, she can cast immunity for 1 turn, and heal all allies by 20% each. Her amazing base Spd makes it easy to make her super fast, but you should make sure to give her decent runes. She is super fun to play with, and a real life savior in the Arena.

Skogul – Giant Warrior:

Skogul – Giant Warrior

Type: Defense
Obtainable trough: Mystical Scroll, Mystical Summon, Wind Scroll, Legendary Scroll, Temple of Wishes
Useful in: Arena, Guild Wars, Guild Siege, Raid

Skogul works quite simple; throw your rock and wait for the next turn. He is not very useful for any dungeons, but he is an amazing defense unit for PvP content. He also works excellent on attack, as he can tank many hits, as his passive skill “Weight of Survival” increases his defense by 50%. Make sure to give him as much HP as you can, so his Atlas Stone hits hard.

Briand – Death Knight:

Briand – Death Knight

Type: HP
Obtainable trough: Mystical Scroll, Mystical Summon, Wind Scroll, Legendary Scroll, Temple of Wishes
Useful in: Tower of Ascension, Arena, Guild Siege, Guild Wars

Briand is super simple to build, and very useful for beginners in the Tower of Ascension. He can revive dead allies with his third skill and weaken the enemy monsters’ attack power for 2 turns. He helped me a lot in the early days, and it is very easy to rune. Put a decent Despair/Energy set on him, and you’re done.

Light monsters:

Mihael – Sylphid:

Mihael – Sylphid

Type: Support
Obtainable trough: Scroll of Light & Darkness, Temple of Wishes
Useful in: Arena, Live Arena, Guild Wars, Guild Siege, PvE Content

Mihael is a support monster, that can heal ally monsters by 30%, increase defense, and increase a target’s skills to max cooldown. Her stats are amazing, and I would not regret feeding Devilmons into her to max out her skills. If you pull her from a scroll, make sure to build her.

Iona – Epikon Priest:

Iona – Epikon Priest

Type: Support
Obtainable trough: Scroll of Light & Darkness, Temple of Wishes
Useful in: Arena, Live Arena, Guild Wars, Guild Siege, PvE Content

Besides Eladriel, Iona claims the spot for the best reviver in Summoners War. Unlike many other revivers, she also increases the defense of all ally monsters for 3 turns with the same skill. Besides this, she can heal ally monsters too and has impressive stats. Make sure to build her if you get her.

Halphas – Lich:

Halphas – Lich

Type: Defense
Obtainable trough: Scroll of Light & Darkness, Temple of Wishes
Useful in: Arena, Live Arena, Guild Wars, Guild Siege

When Halphas got his buff back in the days, his popularity increases massively. Now, he becomes invincible for 1 turn when his HP falls below 50% and drains life from the enemy whenever a turn ends. Thanks to this passive skill, he can solo entire teams and is an excellent tank for dark damage dealers.

Gemini – Brownie Magician:

Gemini – Brownie Magician

Type: Attack
Obtainable trough: Scroll of Light & Darkness, Temple of Wishes
Useful in: Arena, Live Arena, Guild Wars, Guild Siege

Gemini shares a similar position as Galleon. His only job is to remove beneficial effects from enemy monsters and weak their defense. He even has a speed leader skill of 19%, that works everywhere, unlike Galleons Guild Content leader skill. If you do not have a Galleon yet, Gemini could be a decent alternative.

Dover – Kobold Bomber:

Dover – Kobold Bomber

Type: Attack
Obtainable trough: Scroll of Light & Darkness, Temple of Wishes
Useful in: Guild Wars, Arena, Guild Siege

Like Taurus and Malaka, Dover is a decent bomber that can deal a lot of damage if he lands his bombs on all enemy monsters. However, he is slightly better than the other Kobold Bombers, as he can stun and decrease the attack bar of enemy monsters with his third skill.

Hwadam – Taoist:

Hwadam – Taoist

Type: HP
Obtainable trough: Scroll of Light & Darkness, Temple of Wishes
Useful in: Arena, Guild Wars, Guild Siege, Live Arena

If you want to have a tanky defense for Arena, Guild Wars, or Guild Siege, Hwadam is your man. His passive skill “Secretive Guard” prevents allies from dying, and transfers 30% of your max HP to the saved ally. He is super annoying to deal with if you can not decrease his HP fast enough, and if he is runed on Despair, he can even stun the whole enemy team with his second skill. Still an amazing unit, even after 4 years.

Mimirr – Barbaric King:

Mimirr – Barbaric King

Type: Attack
Obtainable trough: Scroll of Light & Darkness, Temple of Wishes
Useful in: Arena, Live Arena, Guild Wars, Guild Siege

Mimirr can either be used as a supporter or as a damage dealer, thanks to his decent stats and high attack multipliers. As the Water and Wind Barbaric King, Mimirr can also brand enemy monsters, and stun them with his third skill. Very fun to use, especially on an attack build.

Molly – Mermaid:

Molly – Mermaid

Type: Support
Obtainable trough: Scroll of Light & Darkness, Temple of Wishes
Useful in: Arena, Live Arena, Guild Siege, Guild Wars

Like Hwadam, Molly is a great monster for your Guild Wars, Arena, or Guild Siege defense. Her passive skill, “Glaring Mists” increases the chance to land a glancing hit on ally monsters, and recovers the HP by 10% on an ally with the lowest HP. She can even remove harmful effects, but she should be paired with another monster that can support her healing. But besides this, a very good monster overall.

Iris – Magic Knight:

Iris – Magic Knight

Type: Attack
Obtainable trough: Scroll of Light & Darkness, Temple of Wishes
Useful in: Arena, Live Arena, Guild Wars, Guild Siege

Facing immunity or invincibility in PvP is not a favorable situation. Still, if you own a light Magic Knight, you have a decent counter for such cases. With her passive skill, she can remove one beneficial effect with each attack, and revolvers 15% HP on an ally with the lowest HP as well. Besides this, she can also prevent other monsters from using their skills for 2 turns, making her an excellent counter pick for Woosa, Chloe, or other support monsters.

Illianna – Neostone Agent:

Illianna – Neostone Agent

Type: Support
Obtainable trough: Scroll of Light & Darkness, Temple of Wishes
Useful in: Arena, Live Arena, Guild Wars, Guild Siege

Illianna can be paired up with lots of different monsters, not only because she has a 33% Atk leader skill for Guild Content. She can cast a 2 turn invincibility on one ally, while all other monsters of your team will be protected with a strong shield. Like Olivia, Illianna can remove all harmful effects on one ally and completely fill up this attack gauge.

Amarna – Anubis:

Amarna – Anubis

Type: Support
Obtainable trough: Scroll of Light & Darkness, Temple of Wishes
Useful in: Guild Wars, Guild Siege, Arena, Live Arena, Raid, Rift Beasts

Armana is one of the strongest revivers in the entire game, and maybe a bit too strong to be a natural 4-Star monster. His kit is absolutely amazing. It enables him to debuff enemies with weaken defense, anti-heal, and branding, but also heal allies based on 30% of Armana’s max HP. I’m surprised that he is not a natural 5-Star monster.

Tablo – Dice Magician:

Tablo – Dice Magician

Type: Support
Obtainable trough: Scroll of Light & Darkness, Temple of Wishes
Useful in: Arena, Live Arena, Guild Wars, Guild Siege

After his nerf some patches ago, Tablo is still a decent 4-Star monster. His crowd control is excellent for Arena and Guild Content, but he should be fully skilled up, and on a Violent build. You can even use him as an SPD Leader, as he increases the Spd of ally monsters by 24% in the Arena. Still a solid unit.

Deva – Chakram Dancer:

Deva – Chakram Dancer

Type: Attack
Obtainable trough: Scroll of Light & Darkness, Temple of Wishes
Useful in: Dungeons, Rift Beasts

Deva is not quite as strong as Talia, but she is a good monster. She has an AoE armor break, can put continuous damage on enemy monsters, and increases her own damage proportional to the enemy’s max HP with every attack.

Bailey – Boomerang Warrior:

Bailey – Boomerang Warrior

Type: Attack
Obtainable trough: Scroll of Light & Darkness, Temple of Wishes
Useful in: Dungeons, Rift Beasts, Arena

Unlike all the other Boomerang Warriors, Bailey should be run as quickly as possible to deal max damage to the enemy. In combination with a Chakram Dancer, she can deal a lot of damage, and even buff her own attack with the second skill “Spirit Focus.” She is not as strong as Sabrina, but still a decent DPS unit.

Felleria – Dryad:

Felleria – Dryad

Type: Support
Obtainable trough: Scroll of Light & Darkness, Temple of Wishes
Useful in: Arena, Raid, Guild Wars, Guild Siege

Felleria is an excellent unit for Raid Level 5, as she can transfer harmful effects to targeted enemy monsters, and heal (or create a shield proportional to her HP) her allies with her passive skill “Deep Rooted Tree.” But as she has fantastic stats, she can also be used in Arena or Guild content as a supporter.

Dark Monsters:

Kamiya – Nine-tailed Fox:

Kamiya – Nine-tailed Fox

Type: Attack
Obtainable trough: Scroll of Light & Darkness, Temple of Wishes
Useful in: Arena, Guild Wars, Guild Siege

Kamiya does not share the same play style as Soha, or Arang, which I mentioned before. She is more an attacker, mixed with a supporter, as she can sleep enemy monsters for 2 turns (very powerful) and can deal a lot of damage with her third skill. Combined with a decent attack buffer and supporter, she can be a fun unit to play with. Ps: She has 900 base Atk, which is fantastic.

Icares – Sylphid:

Icares – Sylphid

Type: Attack
Obtainable trough: Scroll of Light & Darkness, Temple of Wishes
Useful in: Arena, Guild Wars, Guild Siege, Live Arena

Icares is another tanky unit that can deal significant damage with one hit. With her second skill, she heals ally units by 20% each, and her third skill steals life from the enemy. The amount is equivalent to 50% of Icares’s max HP, so you want her to have high HP. Combined with an HP leader skill, she is able to one-shot low HP monsters, like Sigmarus, Feng Yang, Tanya, and more. Very fun to play with.

Liebli – Joker:

Liebli – Joker

Type: Attack
Obtainable trough: Scroll of Light & Darkness, Temple of Wishes
Useful in: Arena, Guild Wars, Guild Siege

Best 4-Star bomber in Summoners War, without any doubt. If Liebli gets hit by an attack, his cooldowns will decrease by 1, enabling him to put out bombs super fast. He also counterattacks, so giving him a Despair/Will set could be quite effective. Most-have unit.

Dias – Death Knight:

Dias – Death Knight

Type: Defense
Obtainable trough: Scroll of Light & Darkness, Temple of Wishes
Useful in: Raid

Fantastic frontline tank for Raid R5 and below. His skill reduces received damage by 15% and decreases the chance of receiving a critical hit as well. Build him with high resistance, HP, and defense, and you’re done.

Grego – Lich:

Grego – Lich

Type: HP
Obtainable trough: Scroll of Light & Darkness, Temple of Wishes
Useful in: Arena, Guild Wars, Guild Siege

Excellent bruiser for Arena and Guild Content. His passive makes him a big threat to the opponent, as he increases his Atk by 50% each time an ally dies (250% max). He can also defense break multiple enemies, or slow them down with his first skill. I want him so bad…

Fei – Kung Fu Girl:

Fei – Kung Fu Girl

Type: Attack
Obtainable trough: Scroll of Light & Darkness, Temple of Wishes
Useful in: Arena, Guild Wars, Guild Siege

Fun unit with RNG factor. Fei’s third skill, “Dark Dragon Attack,” has the potential to deal a ridiculous amount of damage, but only with a chance of 25%. Her rune requirements are not too high, but she needs decent Critical Rate/Damage, Spd, HP, and Atk.

Hrungnir – Barbaric King:

Hrungnir – Barbaric King

Type: Attack
Obtainable trough: Scroll of Light & Darkness, Temple of Wishes
Useful in: Arena, Guild Wars, Guild Siege

Also a fun unit with an RNG factor. His third skill, “Frenzy,” has a chance of 40% to instantly recover a turn and not going on cooldown (can be used again immediately). There are many videos of Hrungnir literally destroying entire teams in one turn, so he is super fun to play with. I recommend a Violent/Will (or Blade) set on him, to increase the chance of getting an additional turn.

Frigate – Pirate Captain:

Frigate – Pirate Captain

Type: Attack
Obtainable trough: Scroll of Light & Darkness, Temple of Wishes
Useful in: Arena, Guild Wars, Guild Siege

Best attack bar buffer in the game, even better as Bastet, in my opinion. His ability to increase the attack bar of all allies by 50% (!) and reduce skill cooldown by 1 turn each is amazing. With his second skill, he can also stun multiple monsters, which is also fantastic. If you own but did not build one yet, do it!

Betta – Mermaid:

Betta – Mermaid

Type: Support
Obtainable trough: Scroll of Light & Darkness, Temple of Wishes
Useful in: Arena, Raid, Guild Wars, Guild Siege

Strong supporter that is super annoying to go against, as she can buff immunity and decreases the chance of receiving a critical hit for 2 turns. She can also revive dead allies, or heal a target by 30%. Her first skill is also quite good, as she has a chance to remove one beneficial effect of an enemy monster.

Isabelle – Assassin:

Isabelle – Assassin

Type: Attack
Obtainable trough: Scroll of Light & Darkness, Temple of Wishes
Useful in: Arena, Guild Wars, Guild Siege

Very similar to Tanya, but has the advantage that she is element neutral to any monster. Isabelle can increase her own attack, weaken the enemy’s defense, and deal massive single-target damage.

Amduat – Horus:

Amduat – Horus

Type: Support
Obtainable trough: Scroll of Light & Darkness, Temple of Wishes
Useful in: Arena, Live Arena, Guild Wars, Guild Siege

Amazing unit to stop speed and cleave teams. With his passive, he recovers 25% of the attack bar each time an enemy gains a turn. His second skill slows down and decreases the attack speed of enemy monsters. I highly recommend putting Amduat on a Despair set for max efficiency.

Belita – Chakram Dancer:

Belita – Chakram Dancer

Type: Attack
Obtainable trough: Scroll of Light & Darkness, Temple of Wishes
Useful in: Dungeons, Rift Beasts

Like Talia, Belita can increase her own Atk, and deal decent damage to a target monster. With the third skill, she can replace beneficial effects with continuous damage effects, so she has no problem with support monsters that buff immunity. However, she is not as strong as Talia, when it comes to pure damage, but still a good monster.

Martina – Boomerang Warrior:

Martina – Boomerang Warrior

Type: Attack
Obtainable through: Scroll of Light & Darkness, Temple of Wishes
Useful in: Dungeons, Rift Beasts

Martina shares a similar skill as Martina, as she can also deal with immunity without big problems. Her passive enables her to steal one beneficial effect of a targeted monster, and increase her damage by 10% each time. She also shares the same second skill with Sabrina (Triple Strike), enabling her to decrease the defense and attack power for one turn, and disturbing the HP recovery as well.

Trasar – Giant Warrior:

Trasar – Giant Warrior

Type: Support
Obtainable trough: Scroll of Light & Darkness, Temple of Wishes
Useful in: Arena, Raid, Guild Wars, Guild Siege

SupportTrasar is almost identical to Skogul, but his passive is a bit different. Instead of increasing his own defense, Trasar instantly gains another turn if he would die from an attack. So if you would kill Trasar with an attack, the rock will come down instantly, dealing massive damage to the entire team. However, he can not counterattack or attack together with other allies while his weapon is not in his hands.

Dragunov – Sniper Mk.1:

Dragunov – Sniper Mk.1

Type: Attack
Obtainable trough: Scroll of Light & Darkness, Temple of Wishes
Useful in: Arena, Raid, Guild Wars, Guild Siege

Dragunov is probably one of the most fun to use monsters in the game. His skills are not different from Carcano’s (Fire Sniper), but his damage output is much higher than his. Every time he eliminates an enemy monster in the hidden aim pose, he will stay in it for another turn. This cycle lasts until a monster survives his attack.

To have the most fun with him, rune him on triple Revenge, for a 45% chance to counterattack. PS: In his hidden aim pose, he will deal 200% damage to an enemy.
